Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her music. She was among the youngest and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's had nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live and to act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was the Indian young sitar artist. She is the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. During the first few years of her life she was split in London New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. Then she relocated in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is still pursuing a successful career in recording and performing even though she's young. Her father has accompanied her on numerous occasions for several years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. She's performed in all major venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biographie she wrote in 2002. The book pays tribute to her father who died in the year 2000. Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared on Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shankar is currently a rising superstar and her fame will continue to grow. Anoushka lived a long her time in London and Delhi in her early years. After that, she moved to California for high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration Anoushka first made an appearance as a sitar player in front of an audience four years following her nine-year-old father. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she also gained a variety of opportunities. As she was teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. In recognition of being one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
